Atlus was ‘extremely careful’ about Persona 3 Reload changes- ‘Good things do not get old with time, and greatness does not fade away’-

Persona 3 Reload is a faithful remake of the 2006 original—and I loved it—but given that the remastered Persona 3 Portable released on Steam just last year, one might wonder why Atlus chose to return to that source material so soon.

Speaking to PC Gamer in an interview translated by Atlus West staff, Persona team general producer Kazuhisa Wada said that Persona 3 deserved its Reload update to give a modern audience a way to enjoy its stellar story on modern specs—and that the Strega villains deserved more time in the sun (and the Dark Hour).

“Good things do not get old with time, and greatness does not fade away,” said Wada. “So I thought it was necessary not only for us, but also for posterity, to keep the story and game experience of Persona 3 in a state where it could be enjoyed with today’s specs—Persona 5 Royal level—and hardware.”

Persona 5 Royal’s strong showing only reinforced that desire. “We felt that many of these fans were …

A decade since it was announced, the elusive Little Devil Inside resurfaces with a new 6-minute gameplay video and an apology from its developers-

Remember Little Devil Inside? It’s a survival-y open world action adventure with impeccable black comedy vibes, developed by South Korean studio Neostream. It’s also been in development for absolutely ages. The game’s Kickstarter campaign took place when Steam Greenlight was still a thing, and there have been no updates about its progress since its last trailer dropped in 2021.

You’d be forgiven for thinking Little Devil Inside was never coming out, but it appears Neostream’s game is still on track for release. Or at least, it’s trudging wearily toward the end of its journey after the train derailed several miles back.

Earlier today, Neostream posted a new video of the game in action fittingly titled ‘Despite all’. The video, which feels more like a gameplay showcase than a trailer, basically spends six solid minutes reminding me why I was excited about this project in the first place. Mechanically it looks like a familiar blend of exploration, combat, questing, and surv…

Dave the Diver is teaming up with our other favorite nautical adventure of 2023, Dredge, for a spooky free DLC-

One of the smaller pleasant surprises at this year’s Game Awards was the announcement of a free, Dredge-themed crossover DLC for Dave the Diver. The two fishing games will collide when the update launches on December 15.

Things actually seem pretty friendly between the duelling fishing games of 2023—in a Mintrocked dev update, Dave the Diver director Jaeho Hwang and designer Nolan King cited a huge fan demand as the reason for the update, and explained that each team loved the other’s game.

The brief trailer shows a spooky red mist descending on the Blue Hole, as well as brief shots of Dave’s fishing boat exploring the lagoon in full 3D. Hwang and King describe this as a new minigame coming with the update, a fun nod to Dredge’s signature gameplay. The now-haunted Blue Hole has been infested with “aberrant” fish from Dredge, and these nasty boys serve as extra-challenging enemies with their unique sushi in demand among a special new clientele.

Don’t sweat it—Zenless Zone Zero’s system requirements demand nothing more than a ten-year old GPU and 8 GB of RAM-

Persona 5 meets Street Fighter meets Genshin Impact. That’s one helluva mix—if miHoYo can get the balance right. More importantly, the game will need to run smoothly on our gaming PCs before all that. That shouldn’t be any issue, however, as the Zenless Zone Zero system requirements are going to be zero bother for most.

Set for full release on July 4, and available to preload today, Zenless Zone Zero should run perfectly fine on the majority of gaming PCs today.

The minimum system requirements are, quite frankly, absurdly low for a game in 2024. I’d guess that’s due to this game’s simultaneous mobile release—it’s set to launch on PC, PS5, iOS and Android. You’ll only need a 7th Gen or above Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970. That’s a ten-year-old graphics card.

We have no idea how well the game will actually run on those specs—presumably fine enough for miHoYo to suggest it, at least. Though that’s not always the case with t…

Final Fantasy 7 Remake director would give an emphatic ‘No!’ if someone asked him for an FF8 remake, and FF8’s original director isn’t keen either-

Call me an empath, but something tells me that remaking Final Fantasy 7 as a trilogy of slick, high-budget modern games is taking its toll on poor Naoki Hamaguchi, the remake’s director. In a recent chat with IGN, Hamaguchi and Final Fantasy 8 director Yoshinori Kitase were presented with the idea of a similar remake for FF8. Hamaguchi took to the idea like a cat to a swimming pool.

“If after we’ve finished the three games in the [FF7] trilogy,” said Hamaguchi, “Mr Kitase then comes to me and says, ‘Right, we’re going to be remaking another numbered Final Fantasy game and you are on the project,’ I’ll just turn around and go, ‘No!'”

Kitase seemed to agree, even though FF8 was originally his own baby all the way back in 1999. “Trying to recreate that kind of volume of content you had in the RPGs back then in the modern day really is not something you can take up lightly,” he said, “It’s such a massive investment of time and effort that we really have to think very hard ab…

Fetch the popcorn- US government sues Adobe, says it’s ‘trapped’ consumers with a subs model that’s ‘absurdly hard to cancel’ and ‘ambushed’ them with late fees-

In news that will delight any user of Photoshop, the US government is suing Adobe for allegedly harming consumers by “enrolling them in its default, most lucrative subscription plan without clearly disclosing important plan terms.”

The complaint from the Department of Justice (DoJ) claims that Adobe “hides” the true cost of its subscriptions in fine print, “behind optional textboxes and hyperlinks,” and deliberately makes cancelling a subscription “onerous and complicated” before it “ambushes” customers with termination fees.

The complaint further alleges that calls or live chats with Adobe support are often “either dropped or disconnected”, breaking federal law, and then it takes aim at the executive suite. Maninder Sawhney, an Adobe vice-president, and David Wadhwani, president of digital media business, are named as having “directed, controlled, had the authority to control, or participated in the acts and practices of Adobe.”

Adobe moved to a…
